Spanish

Today's Spanish crew was all boys (except Lauren Clay.) Here are 4 of the 5 kids who came this week. Logan joined us, but didn't make it into the picture. Every week I have good intentions of taking pictures when all the kids are playing, but something goes wrong with the camera. Last week I couldn't find the camera (and the picture would have been precious with 6 kids wearing yellow, holding monkey stuffed animals and eating bananas), and this week the batteries died just as I was trying to snap a picture. I pulled this picture off Karen's blog...thanks! As I write this entry, Lauren Clay is calling out the names of all the kids in the picture. I didn't know she knew all the names without any hints!

I don't know how much the other kids have been saying in Spanish at home, but Lauren Clay is starting to come up with lots of words without my prodding. Today when she saw a picture of a pineapple, she pointed to it and said, "piña!" Also, when I sing, "Juanito cuando baila," she takes over with "baila, baila, baila." Last night she was asking each of us, "¿Cómo estás?" Her accent is great. I love it.
