Finals hit hard, and I spent all my computer time the past two weeks trying to get grades in before our much-anticipated trip to DC. I submitted grades Thursday morning and we took off Thursday afternoon. The vacation was such fun. I'm posting the best pics from our camera and will post the ones from the rest of the trip once I get them from mom (mom and dad made the trip as well, and graciously kept the kids while we attended a friend's wedding in Baltimore.)
DC was holding a "Celebrate Public Service" expo; these first pictures are from that. We could climb all over the tanks and helicopters-- it was a perfect for a hands-on almost-3-year old (not to mention four inquisitive adults!)
She was sketching Mike Wasowski. She wasn't too far off the real guy:
The next is from this year's Balloon Glow. We didn't take as many pics as we did last year. Our hands were full, and Lauren Clay was more interested in a big slide than the balloons:
The classic fall-asleep-while-eating shot:

The below picture shows Lauren Clay's boo boo cover a few weeks ago. She doesn't like Bandaids, but wants to cover the hurt. Usually we end up with a lot of napkins and a lot of tape; this one happened to look like a cast:
