Sunday, our good friend Vic threw a shower for family and friends we claim as family. We didn't get to have this shower with Lauren Clay because she came before the shower date. At least a couple people were banking on this one being cancelled as well, but we made it through! We received all kinds of fun clothes for JohnTyler. His closet went from being really sparse (except for the stuff Mel let us borrow) to PACKED! He's going to be very well dressed!
Lauren Clay didn't nap before the party, and there was way too much excitement for her to fall asleep in the middle of it. Below she is helping me open gifts and playing with a little jack-o-lantern flashlight, and then she is playing in the music room with Connor and Crystal. The last picture is of the nice long nap she took after the shower. She was supposed to go to a halloween party with mom and dad, but there was no keeping her up after her fun day celebrating JT's quickly approaching birth!
This morning Lauren Clay and I were snuggling in the bed (our furnace was out, so we had to snuggle to stay warm!) and she said, "mommy, JohnTyler's moving!" We looked at my c-section scar and talked about how tomorrow the doctors are going to-- borrowing a term from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse-- "snip snip snip" right there and then reach in and pull JohnTyler out. We then put a little stuffed animal under the pillowcase, made it move around like the baby, then she "snip snip snipped" so we could pull it out. I still don't know that she understands what's going to happen, and I know she has no idea how the dynamics of the house are about to change, but she is more and more interested in what's going on and talks a lot about what's going to happen.
LaurenClay is currently fast asleep, and has been for almost three hours. That's great, because we get to trick or treat tonight. Papa JUST arrived (and LaurenClay's up now!), so I'm off to visit. We'll take pictures of the Halloween festivities, but I'm doubtful we'll post anything until after baby...

Shannon, it brings tears to my eyes to think that tomorrow you'll be having your son... How exciting. I wonder if you'll be up all night blogging or if you'll be able to sleep:) My guess is that this blog will not be touched for the next few weeks:) I will think of you tomorrow and will be excited to hear the news.
Love ya!
