Gulf Shores

Here's the house where we're staying this week with the Livesay clan. We have had a great time so far... lots of reading, lots of relaxing and swimming like crazy! We are staying about two tenths of a mile from the ocean and around the corner from a couple of pools.
I'll post more pictures soon, but since internet access is spotty, I'm pulling in some of Kristina's pictures from Bobby's computer. We took nearly 600 pictures this morning with our camera (all of which are on John's computer.) We'll upload a few when we get internet access again. Below is a picture of the walk to the beach. We have to climb up and then down about 40 steps which take us over the dunes to the ocean. We're getting quite a workout... especially having to climb with all our gear along with a child. Lauren Clay actually prefers to walk the stairs (she says "big steps, big steps..." as she ascends/descends), but it quadruples our time when we follow her lead.

We spent a few hours at the pool this morning with the Livesays. Lauren Clay spent most of her time hoarding all the toys, nervous that Libby might want to play with them. We've noticed that the girls play much better together in the absence of toys. They tend to get pretty territorial when "stuff" is around. John and I noticed the spiritual lesson in it: material things can complicate, distract, and detract from the real fun.
