We started her birthday (June 1) with pancakes in the shape of 2s. We have been doing "two" things all day to help Lauren Clay remember her age. Of course, when we ask her how old she is, she typically answers, "three", and then gives us a big smile.
Here she is eating her pancakes (called them "cupcakes" or "pan-cupcakes".) She is watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse as she eats.
This picture was taken at Henry Clay's garden, where we ate lunch with Grandmother, Grandaddy, Mel and kids. Lauren Clay is holding the "Doofy" from Grandaddy. She hasn't put it down much-- she has treated it like it is her own child. Within 24 hours, Goofy had lost his hat, and his white hands were a dull gray. She's never attached to anything up to this point, but Goofy sure did take over around here. She puts her little bunny rabbit ice pack on his head at least once a day, last night she took him to the potty (he's potty trained, but she's not), she had him give Henry a treat and made Henry give him a high five, and she talks to him constantly. Today she has been saying, "sorry, Doofy." I have no idea why she keeps apologizing...
This is a replication of the shot we took last year at her birthday lunch. Lauren Clay was getting very tired at this point, so we felt happy that we got this picture.
...and here she is, asleep before we even left the gardens!
