Taught my first class for the semester tonight. Going into today, I felt very prepared. Syllabi were all finished and posted on the web, class presentations were ready for the week, and all copies were made except for one set. I'd decided to use an article for the second class that was originally scheduled for late in the semester. I ran by campus to make copies of it yesterday (with both kids in tow.) I should have followed through with the copies, but both were getting hungry and wild, so I left the copies with the secretary to run. She said it would be no problem. Unfortunately, she must have gotten sick, because when I arrived to campus at 3:45, she had a note on the door that said she was out for the day, my mailbox was empty, and the original document was still in the inbox... so I scrambled to make the copies (running out of paper once and jamming the copy machine once.) When I got to class, I realized I only had half of what I needed anyway. Apparently, just under half of the class didn't make it onto my roster, so I have 16 instead of the 9 students I was expecting. I ended up having to scramble again to send everyone home with the day-one materials.
The whole day has been kind of wild. I took a shower and bathed Lauren Clay early, but around noon I had to re-bathe because as I was changing Ty's diaper, he had a firehose tee tee that soaked me, him, and the bed. I had just been feeling proud of myself for not letting that happen in weeks. I guess pride comes before a fall; he had TWO more sprays like that later this afternoon (once I had on my work clothes.) He also spit up my sweater, and he rarely spits up on me (he usually reserves that for John!)
I'm off to grab some dinner and try to get a good night's sleep tonight. I will need to head to the office early tomorrow to make sure I am prepared for double the students in my second class as well. It only has 14 students, and it usually fills to almost 30...

Wow, you make me tired! :0
How do they know exactly when to pee and spit on mommy? I think they have an agenda! They want everyone to know you are taken! You are doing awesome - it will be more normal soon :) I promise.
So glad you got that written down to remember! See you Friday night, akml
