friday fun

Today has been fun-filled. We started the morning with a very informal Spanish class (more like a play group) with other 2 and 3 year olds. I guess I'm teaching both ends of the spectrum (advanced grad students and pre-pre-schoolers.) The kids did well. They were a little tentative, but they seemed to have a good time, especially when they were playing together in the sandbox. We're going to keep getting together on Fridays to do a little Spanish and a little more playing. I'll try to take a picture to post next week.

After Spanish, we headed to the pool for our final swim lesson. Lauren Clay was as cautious as ever, but she did let Miss Amanda take her down the big slide. She really wanted to go down the big slide in the baby pool, but I'm still waiting on John to help out with that one. She wouldn't go down the little frog slide.

After her nap, we ran out to the store and bought some princess panties. She's very proud of them... we'll see if she will treat them as panties instead of diapers. She is now going tee tee on her own (goes right into the bathroom, puts her seat on the potty, and goes all by herself), but she still wants a diaper for the messy stuff. I'm not worried; I figure she'll do that when she's ready. Here's a picture of her Cinderella pair (also notice Henry in the background considering eating a crayon):

She's now watching Beauty and the Beast. Cousin Miles is going to be Gaston in the Children's Theater Beauty and the Beast production next week, so we've been introducing her to it little by little. She now identifies Belle, Beast, Lumiere (Loomy- air), Gaston and Lafou (she was calling him La-food.) She's still working on Mrs. Potts and Cogsworth.

I'm off to pull out the paints and do some shannonspaintbox work!
