firsts

Well, it did snow Saturday; enough to build a snowman and get our snow fix for the year. Now we are ready for winter to end and for warm temperatures to return. I'm attaching some pictures and some short clips of Lauren Clay running through her first real snow of the season and building her first snowman.

Here's a clip of Ty eating his first bites of cereal yesterday. He loves it and now cries for more when he finishes.

Our last first is that Lauren Clay has now gone down for two naps and one night of sleep without a fuss. Tonight she got all snug in her Cars sheets and watched her fish as she calmly and peacefully drifted off to sleep. Those Cars sheets may (probably) be why she is so agreeable to sleep time. She is very proud of those sheets; picked them out herself. It was grandmother's idea to put fun sheets on the bed as a lure. We disregarded all sense of style and conceded... but I'm not complaining. I'll trade chic for calm any day.

Other goings on:

Recently Lauren Clay told me, "Grandmother loves Jesus' blood, mom." Come to find out, she picked that up from mom singing hymns. I sing over her most nights, too, and now she consistently requests the old hymns: "Nothing but the Blood of Jesus" and "Amazing Grace."

Lauren Clay calls me "moms." While I originally wondered if John had benn letting her watch Snoop Dog, I think she gets that from calling John "Pops" sometimes.

I've got to get off and get good sleep so I can have productive office time tomorrow. I have some good teachy stuff to post from the recent church series and tonight's Replenish, but my blog time is up.

Looking forward to your teachy stuff since I cannot get to Replenish AND we did not make church this week! Such cute snow pics. It is a good thing we got good snow pics in WI because he does not like to get suited up now and won't wear the boots....typical Nick! ;) So we watched dad shovel and throw snowballs at the shed. He said the snow wasn't the best for packing or rolling but it looks like you guys managed well! Hope you all have recovered from your visit to Nickland. Good idea with the sheets! Nick has flannel and he likes to snuggle up in them....I think it helps! Hope to see you on Friday!
