a month's worth of photos

I can't believe a month has passed since the last post. We had a sort of wild October. While I was writing a manuscript to submit to an educational journal and preparing a professional development workshop for a local school, Lauren Clay caught scarlet fever. We made it through, but the blog took a back seat for a while!

Uploading pics to the blog has eaten up my self-alloted computer time, so I'm not going to elaborate much on the pictures. I think they're self explanatory. I'll try to write some updates later on the cute things the kids are doing. They amaze and tickle us daily. Even in spite of the occasional hang ups (we're hopeful scarlet fever steers clear of this home in the future), life is very fun these days.

The first pics are from Halloween in Alabama. I encouraged Lauren Clay to be Minnie Mouse because I loved the yellow shoes. She was amazingly agile in them. I didn't get many pictures of Mickey. We'll try again Sunday when we dress them up and take them to visit Grandmother Doris at the nursing home.

Here are some pics of the kids hanging out around the house.

Notice the "old man" look with the socks:

Lauren Clay begs John to play dollhouse with her every evening. He generally obliges:

We attended a birthday party at Boyd Orchards:

Lauren Clay has been begging to ride a horse for some time. Wish granted:

Thanks for the updates. I haven't had much time for them either. Sorry I missed you at homecoming. I wish I could have seen the kids there. I left P. at home as he still has to have his afternoon nap. See you Friday at Bunco.
