gymnastics

Tonight Lauren Clay had her first class of gymnastics: Tumbling and Trampoline. She has really enjoyed watching the olympics and has always loved the trampoline at mom and dad's house, so we signed her up for the 101 class. She's in a class of 3 little girls and she is a model student. I'm posting some video to show where she is week 1; after 10 weeks I'll do a follow-up post (and I'll probably post some updates in between!)

Look at this fun big foam pit!:

We didn't catch it on video, but she was trying to learn how to pull her legs into a tuck position between jumps. She had the right idea, but had a tough time actually doing it:

Here she is practicing her forward roll. She has that down; right now the big challenge is the cartwheel. We didn't catch any video of that either. I'll try to get that next week. In the meantime, here's a roll:

And for a non-gymnastics update, when the kids took baths tonight Lauren Clay wanted Ty to put on this robe. As he cruised around the room, John and I couldn't help but think of cousin Eddie from Christmas vacation.

What do you think?
